The use of Fluticasone: Nasal Spray – allergic rhinitis; inhaler – prevention of exacerbations of asthma; cream and ointment – eczema, nodular prurigo (Hyde), psoriasis, neyrodermatozy (including simple shingles), lichen planus, contact hypersensitivity reaction, discoid lupus erythematosus, generalized erythroderma, insect bites, Red sudamen, seborrheic dermatitis.
Contra Fluticasone: All forms: hypersensitivity, pregnancy, breastfeeding (withhold during treatment) ointment and cream: acne (pink, ordinary), perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital itching, the primary skin lesions of bacterial, viral and fungal etiology, infants (1 year) and an aerosol spray: childhood (up to 4 years).
Side effects: Nasal Spray – nasal irritation, unpleasant taste and smell, perforated nasal septum, aerosol inhalation – candidiasis of the mouth, hoarseness, development of paradoxical bronchospasm, cream and ointment – burning and itching at the site of application, striae, hypopigmentation, hypertrichosis, allergic contact dermatitis with prolonged use – symptomatic hypercortisolism.
Dosage and administration: nasal spray – in the morning, 100 mcg (children under 12 years old – 50 mcg) in each nostril, an aerosol for inhalation – in bronchial asthma mild, moderate and severe 2 times a day to 100-250 mg, 250 -500 mg and 500 mg, respectively (for children and teenagers under 16 years – 50-100 mcg) ointment and cream is applied thinly on the affected skin 2 times a day.
Precautions: Caution prescribed after systemic use of glucocorticoids, especially in violation of adrenal function, aerosol inhalation – in pulmonary tuberculosis. Nasal spray is recommended at regular intervals; treatment for inhalation aerosol should not be stopped abruptly, before the procedure is desirable to inhaled beta2-adrenoceptor agonist, short acting, and after it – rinse your mouth.
